Ron Mielzynski, founder of RM Violins was born and has lived in Chicago all of his life. In
his teenage years, he had acquired a fondness for creating items out of wood, At first
furniture, then guitars and violins. He decided to attend the Chicago School of Violin
Making in 1997 after 10 years of working in retail hardware and pharmacy. While in
school, he began work in the shop of Michael Becker in Park Ridge, IL, where he gained
repair experience, and developed an understanding of high quality instruments. To date
he has created 24 violins, 6 violas, 2 cellos and 2 acoustic guitars.
Since 1999, he has maintained membership in the Violin Society of America, an
organization which promotes the making, study and preservation of violins
